I’m doing the travelogue equivalent of binge watching. Saving up 3-4 days worth of posts and reading in one sitting. Eccellente!

Sachertorte gelato -- sounds amazing. Thanks for the recommendation!

"Or does it mainly relate to politics, myth, and fashion?"

This.

Re Italian restaurants, I have a friend from El Salvador who was head chef at a Sicilian restaurant in New York twenty years ago. He drives a truck for a construction company now.

Jay, your writing and cultural knowledge (especially, of course, music) are nonpareil, but you're a pretty darn good photographer, as well. This tour of Italy to places I've been and not been is a real treat on these hot and humid summer mornings here in Illinois. Keep on writing and photographing! Thanks!

Thx a million, Craig.

Jay, there are a stream of themes in your travel notes. Art, music, sculptures, conversations with hotel & food workers, but the strongest, the most consistent .... is your consumption of sweets. Is it time to give you friends an update on weight gain?

Don't know if you've moved on from Rome. If not, you might want to visit the Museo e Cripta dei Cappuccini - https://www.museoecriptacappuccini.it/ (unless you've already visited in past trips). It's quite something (and just off the Via Veneto - You could go to Harry's Bar afterwards to decompress from the experience). here's wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capuchin_Crypt

I'm saving everything from I think #5 on up as a treat for surviving the next week of work. Thank you for providing something to look forward to!
