What he should have said was "I can't wait to beat The Ohio State University". (OSU, MA 1986)

"Actually, our real rival—our fiercest rival—is Michigan State, but we ought to leave that for another column." REALLY? OK, Jay, you have forgotten more about Michigan athletics than I will ever know, but all my Wolverine colleagues are much more invested in the Ohio State rivalry (note that I do NOT capitalize that definite article). Am I living amongst a weird Wolverine sub-sample out here in Silicon Valley? Of course, that vote in 1973 by the Michigan State AD is probably enough to gain eternal Wolverine enmity. That truly was a craven way for the Spartans to get back for that 31-0 whooping.

I find it most interesting that most of your column is lamenting about how a gaffe by a wannabe Senator of the United States is a whole lot of nothing…followed by an anecdote about some poor Jewish peoples that are going to have to flee their home country because it is being overrun, or should I say infected by, by a bunch of antisemites. “Doctor, Doctor” El- Sayed reminds me of how incredibly impressive the resumes German Gauleiters ruling Poland where…who, come to think of it, like El-Sayed’s own sister, [mother and father], and bestie like to blame “The Joozes” for all their political worlds problems…We the Living in Kakistocracy, where we have nothing but a piece of pure Rich white trash in the Bada Bing, I mean Oval Office and a man running for the U.S. Senate whose diehard constituents I cannot help but think have the exact same immoral sentiments about those lovely peoples you met on the golf range Jay. Or, to put it another way, England and Michigan are now overpopulated by brown peoples that thought October 7th was really cool, I mean justified…and that scum of the Earth can vote. God HELP U.S.

I clicked through to the videos about the marching band formation. I'm such a fuddy duddy about college football I'd never even heard about this maneuver before your essay. Besides, I'm the former college music major who quit band my senior year of high school because I hated marching band so much!

Watching the videos ... yeah, I still hate it. College football man, it's a whole other world.

Jay, you have committed a cardinal error. It is not "Ohio State University" but "The Ohio State University." The OSU was an excellent client of mine and without revealing details, they were fantastic to work with. They follow the use of "The OSU" religiously. DSA draftees live in a make-up world where logic and history are irrelevant. Their misguided, economically ignorant ways appeal to people as ill educated as they are. Until our schools teach economics without a political slant, the US is doomed to groom more civilization destroyers like DSA adherents.

At Fort Benning in the 1980's we had the Allied Student Training Detachment. When they changed it to International Students, I wondered which side was behind the change.

Amen on dunking, Jay. My father in law just delights in the Lake America thing. He (from WI) also observed that Carney ought to “play Trump’s game” and rename Lake Huron to Lake Canada.I had (and have) no words.

When I heard I Abdul’s comment about Ohio I felt a warm glow in my heart. And now you have enlightened me about his many accomplishments, including his athletic ability. I was a McMorrow supporter, and I thought Haley Stevens was silly. I no longer live in Michigan but I would vote for El Sayed or anyone who could help put a brake on Trump.

Many Canadian Jews are making similar plans, Jay.

And they are taking their financial assets and human capital with them as they decide to leave.

I don’t want to live in a Country where others feel unsafe. That is the vey least Western Civilization should have to offer a person.

Sure, your story is anecdotal; but what is Big Data except an aggregate collection of individual anecdotes?

Thank you for the musings, Jay.
