Sometimes it is fun reading an article without a discernible topic, although the thread and Jay drop a couple hints. Politics has not likely been fully civil but I doubt past civility reached the low of recent years. Why have Americans slid to low so fast? Paxton is not one to be admired, unlike John Cornyn whom I consistently voted for. MAGAs and Progressives have become equally distasteful. MAGAs know they are right without being able to explain why. Progressives think theoretically they are right without being able to corral any facts other than fictional ones. Republicans lack the ability to stand up to Trump and Democrats lack the ability to provide any logical reason to vote at all except to get rid of Trump as he is a distasteful human being. I miss civility and intelligent political discourse.
