I, too, am fascinated by unusual names. My entry into the contest is a woman who once worked with my wife: Her name is Ducky Goodbody. Sort of James Bondian in spirit. In my case, I once interviewed a person whose name is Donald Death. Really. My secretary had great fun in announcing that "Death is here to see you".

Regarding sports gambling, small wagers always enhance my weekend rounds of golf with friends. I don’t think I could give them up.

Being selected for even one All Star game must be thrilling, but as a fan, nothing compares to the World Series. I’ve attended both an All Star game when my beloved NL(Sorry, Jay) won and a World Series game when my *much* beloved Giants won. The former cannot compare with the latter.

Kershaw should have used "Notice" rather than the more ominous "Warning."

If this was Jeopardy, this piece would be potpourri. I liked it.

Columba livia, the rock dove or rock pigeon, was domesticated more than 5,000 years ago. They were introduced to the Americas as a domesticated bird, so the current population is classified as feral. Although we sometimes call them “flying rats,” they are actually beautiful. Here are some in India:

I think everyone should know these things. There are 33 extant species of Columba. Many of them are really cute.
