A little music? The headline reminded me more of the song "There's got to be a morning after," rather than the miniseries from the 80s. That song title is literally the only line of the song I know, being just a tad too young and truly disliking that era of music. But since I've now got the earworm of that one line, over and over, in my head, I looked up the background. It was the theme song for The Poseidon Adventure, the 1972 disaster flick. Tell me that's not appropriate!

I look forward to The Republican Party being taken over by its Nordlinger wing.

I appreciate your thoughts, as always. Incidentally, although I’ve lived away from the state for most of my adult life, i grew up in one of those small Kansas towns. I never got to meet Senator Dole, but i was in the room in the early 90s when he called to wish my wife’s great-grandmother a happy 100th birthday.

And that Barry Switzer saying was most often used in regards to my Kansas State team before Bill Snyder got things turned around.

Jay writes: “I wanted Democratic majorities in Congress, to check the executive—but without Abdul El-Sayed, of Michigan.”

Well, you got him anyway. He came with the package, as did AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib, Zohran Momdani, et al.

You have written much about “true conservatives” as distinct from Trump supporters. I am old enough to remember the conservative “fusionism” of fifty-plus years ago, which was often characterized as a “three-legged stool” comprising respect for private property rights and free enterprise, social and religious traditionalism, and a strong anti-communism.

In joining the Democrats you have embraced the squad and abandoned the third leg - anti-communism.

As the adage goes: be careful what you wish for; you might get it.

Nordlinger has NOT joined the Democrats.

The Mourning After,

To The Village Idiwitt , this is as the political world turns…TRUMPISM poisons everything, especially my formerly beloved party and its former leader

The only thing good that can come of this middle of the road, fence sitter, determinative voting block, that put Trump back in the White House like it removed him in the first place, is that Senators Howdy Doody and his Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer endorsed by the Dearborn Independent (how times change and ironically can even change colours…like white trash turning brown over time) vote to impeach Hegseth along with the good Admiral…oh, and The Don King Trump is not only removed from the Bada Bing, I mean Oval Office, but I sent to the Penthouse, along with his two fing turd sons Uday and Qusay, his sin ister Son in Law, Stephen Miller, Steve Jackoff…and the rest of his criminal syndicate for betraying our country and selling the Ukrainians out for…oil…oh, and selling pardons bought and paid for by bitcon from the likes of someone Donald J Trump damn knows full well (rhymes with where, forgive me Jesus, the biggest POSPOTUS belongs…like so yesterday…Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti still cannot be reached for comment)…CZ. Gotta run on and God bless you…thanks for Jaywalking with me…I mean taking my rant. Peace through superior mental firepower

I wish Mitch McConnell were alive to see this… ;-)

He did congratulate Republican Andy Barr for getting elected to the McConnell Senate seat.

I was just making a (bad?) joke.

I was simply say that reports of his death are premature.
