What a wonderful place. My aunt and uncle - my fiancée’s, really, but soon mine as well - live in Grand Rapids; they prefer its comparative serenity to the hustle and bustle of Chicago. I should visit there soon.
Thanks for the Grand Rapids travelogue. We visited my Cousin Johnathan there 7 years ago. Johnathan is a Professor of Geography at Calvin College currently in Ethiopia doing research. Apparently Cousin Johnathan passed your Lost Boy Uber driver like two ships in the night. Forwarded your articles to my Cuz. Taste of home.
The essay on Grand Rapids, and the photo of the moving van reminded me of a moving company van I saw once on a street in Milwaukee. The name of the company on the van was (still is) Hernia Movers, Inc. It's motto: "The Potentate of Totin' Freight." Love it! You can Google the company.
My daughter was there this weekend. It was a good meeting place for friends living around the state. Great town! And when my dad passed, my sister and I took Mom to the Meijer Gardens as they loved to visit when he was well.
Naloxone -- I had to look that one up also. (Sometimes I like to think that I'm 'well-read', but I'm really glad that I had no clue what it's used for.)

I pass a church—a Spanish-language church—called “Maranatha.” This is from the Aramaic: “Our Lord, come!”
In an English-language Bible, it's "Maranatha." In a Spanish-language Bible, it's "Maranatha."
Thank YOU, Mr. Nordlinger. Time spent with you is always time well spent. You have an eye for the good.
Thx a ton, Randall.

I see the same Morgan & Morgan law firm billboards in St. Louis as well.
Interesting!
