Beautiful report... such a postive joy to read...and "OH!" I wish we have a million "No Electric Music" signs in the U.S. ... the combination of such music with the cannabis smells is destroying city park life.
"Have you ever watched an old American movie in which someone is marked out as fat?..."
This is a regular conversation between me and an old friend. His Jeopardy! spectrum interest is TCM. Mine is old TV. We laugh and laugh at the fatties of yesteryear. Old Man Potter? Ralph Kramden? Boss Hogg? Wouldn't even bother waddling over to today's Big-N-Tall.
Moreover, what the airlines should be doing is when there is a seat or two empty on the aisle or ,god forbid...offer them to the lowest ranking service members.
Their service is never to be something they should be embarrassed about.
And yes fat is fat but u know it can be overweight too !
I was an exchange student to Sweden in high school and returned home from Copenhagen. I learned Americans butchered the pronunciation of Copenhagen. It should sound something like 'Shipinhamen.' The family I stayed with in Copenhagen gave me a fantastic tour of the City. Beautiful with clean air and smiling people everywhere. It was so inviting I was tempted to unpack my bags and stay awhile.
My family loves playing cards.Everytime the Cousins show up (2 +1 girlfriend) with Uncle Mike there will always be a game or six of "500".I stay away, way too competitive to get involved.I want them to have their fun
I enjoyed the comment about cigarette smoke. Do you know Copenhagen is, or at least was back in the day, the name of a popular brand of snuff? So yes, Copenhagen and tobacco are linked in my mind.
Hi Jay. About everybody paying with their phones. We were in London last year and I was so happy to see that, just like in Chicago, you could get on the Tube just by putting your phone on the sensor, and it functioned just like paying at the 7-Eleven. (In Chicago you have to load credit into the app, but you get the idea). We are in Paris now for a while and I thought to load my Metro tickets into an app that exists for that purpose, but I noticed that I had never seen anyone use their phone to pay, which I thought was odd. I wondered whether it was reliable, so I put off loading any tickets. I found an agent at a Metro stop who spoke very good English, and was friendly, and I asked him whether people did that. He said they do, but it’s not very reliable! And when it fails, there’s nothing they can do to help. I bet they work fine in Denmark.
"I wish I could buy sandwiches like this at home."
You can make sandwiches at home. Buy the ingredients, assemble them according to your desire at that moment. Pastry, not so much: that takes a lot of skill.

Carlton Fisk!
And Walt Garrison!
My sister has lived there for 20 years Jay, it’s really a lovely place. Married to a Danish school teacher, they’ve got two awesome teenage kids now.

Interesting, Jim! Thx and have a great time.
Park in the rain, flowers in the rain, tomatoes in the rain ... is this a way of telling us it rained the whole time?

It isn’t Sunday morning, without Jay Nordlinger.
What a pleasant read.
Thx a ton.
A pleasure.
Mom's hometown of Greenville, Michigan hosts their annual Danish Festival. Featuring ebelskivers!

What a pleasant start to a Sunday morning. Thanks Jay.
Thank you, Tom.
