Don't forget to mention one of the pop culture incarnations of the Don Juan legend: Warner Brother's 1948 film, The Adventures of Don Juan with Errol Flynn in the title role. It's worth watching: Errol had aged ten years since Robin Hood, but he could still buckle swashes with the best of them. Sadly it can't compare with those classics he made with Olivia de Havilland. By 1948 she had escaped her Warner's contract and moved on. Still its worth streaming.

As your fellow midwesterner, I am with you that the kidz are alright for the better not back to school until after Labor Day…also coming from a townie that did not have to get up by five a.m. to feed the farm animals. But, to Witt, it is funny you would have to wait until after the big governments, big union cartel holy day of celebration to stop having to yell at me to stop playing golf on your lawn.

If Bolton were a praiser, rather than critic of Trump, do you think that this raid would have ever occurred. Notice no question mark, so I hope that that answers that….bit speaking of nasty business, if one hair is hurt on the top of The Don critics Bolton, Pompeo, or Hook, well, I am sure child abuse, I mean book authoritarian $ash (his trademark, not mine) Patel will be right on the case…like the still missing indictments for all the “proof” the creepy Trump sicko fan has about the “rigged election” (another question Jay, have you seen on Substack the fascinatingly stupid, clever, cheap fake analysis of the supposed staged assignation attempt…the converse of Trump idolatry is a form of derangement). But speaking of righteous derangement, I truly hope the Trump admit does not end well for any of The Don’s willing executioners…Ashli Babbitt still cannot be reached for comment.

I want my M.T.V., I mean my XXX twitter troll posts to go viral, so says to himself, one shitte eatin grinning, thousand watt smile schmuck, wannabe loyal oppositions standard bearer Governor Gavin Newsom….like Trump, both raised like entitled rich white trash…and one of them growing up to mislead our nations most beautiful and prosperous state (Gavin and the rest of his rich white trash friends all should have been arrested and thrown in jail the night of the French Laundry capper….ever spend 10 grand on a stupid bottle of grape juice…neither have I, but a person that claims to be man of the people and whose number one issue is homelessness…Newsom is the best the Democrat Party has got, but I parenthetically digress), and get away with it, and the other…God HELP U.S. We the Living in Idiocracy. DEVO lution was way not just an act, but called it way ahead of our wretched times.

Again, a huge, but mild objection. The Republican Party did not leave me, it was hijacked by a GOP Crasher, and a not so silent minority, majority got The Don nominated…who then had the cosmic fortune to be pitted against Nurse Ratched, then Selina Meyer. I wish you would just refer to them as Trumpers, or “Rightists” as I like to think of the knuckle dragger hordes of wasted dumb arses that adore this ogre and monstrosity in the Bada Bing, I mean Oval Office (why can’t someone verbally assault our President til he actually turns white for him turning the fireplace into something out of one of his porn vhs tapes). I do love for your Before Times and let us pray the After Times will be long before January 6th, 2029. The Don is truly only fit for cuffs and a six, by six, by six cement cell with bars for a window and door and a commode that should double for his sink.

The Mexican American A di das designer just could have said I am not seeing what my critics are seeing because I do not see the world through a broken prism of race, gender and class, like neo liberal CEO’s at Anheuser Bush or Cracker Barrel. But you all can politely go…for accusing me of your made up cultural warrior crap.

Long live Walter Lippmann, et tu Jay, in mind, spirit and especially body. Thanks for taking my rant Onward and Upward. Gotta run on. Pray to END TRUMPISM and confront it in all its grotesque forms. Resistance is not futile, it is ones duty. Peace through superior mental firepower

I agree totally on the idiocy of having the US Government having any stake/interest in a business enterprise. There already is too much regulation of our businesses in this country. Now to have a bureaucrat sticking their nose into every area of a business will only muck up the works. The idea that you will have a "Driver's License Bureau type" person poking around a well-run business is terrifying. 😒😒

“If law enforcement—including ICE—is going to be ‘Red America’—is going to be Fox News, the ‘bro-casts,’ etc.—that bodes ill for the good ol’ U.S. of A.”

I strongly suspect that most of the cops who defended the Capitol on J6 ended up voting for Trump.

By the way, the Fraternal Order of Police declined to comment when asked about Trump releasing all the J6ers.

The Vienna Philharmonic will be in Naples, FL for 2 nights next March. I've been debating with myself which night to attend. Your reviews have me leaning towards both.

Jay, I doubt it will change your mind, but one reason I think it makes sense to start the school year in August is that it lines the academic calendar up nicely so that the first semester ends before Christmas, and then the second semester begins when students return in January. In contrast, back when I was in high school in the ‘90’s, school didn’t start until after Labor Day, meaning the first semester stretched into January, meaning we had to take finals right after returning to school from Christmas break.

We never went back to school till the day after Labor Day...but, we also didn't have the issue you are talking about...we actually had two weeks off, and the Semester ended when they started

I kind of like the fact that Trump displays his bowling trophies in the Oval Office.

He can’t cheat at bowling as easily as he cheats at golf, can he?

Hello Jay,

So glad you noticed and thought to comment on the “snapshot” quote from the ICE agent to the citizen protesting their actions. Chilling to see federal law enforcement so clearly recruited from the own the libs cohort, without any regard to standards, norms, and expectations. As for the Adidas story, I was reminded of the appropriation jihad movement from a few years back, when white women wearing large hoop earrings got everyone upset. Somehow I suspect that episode got Trump some votes.

Me too, of everything Trump.

Keep the Sunday evening posts coming, please. Good stuff to read in a weekend wasteland.
