I don't often take the time for podcast interviews, but with two of my "thank G-d they're there" persons, I had to stop and take time to listen to this. Thanks Jay and Kevin. Godspeed as you carry on.

No one wields words for weapons as pointedly as Williamson.

I’ll be tuning in soon.

I can’t wait to hear two of my favourite conservative writers- writers who are conservative?- volley back and forth for an hour.

The podcast outdid even my highest expectations.

KDW was in splendid form, and Jay was the quintessential, loyal sidekick.

One thing often misunderstood about the common good is that it is not something we conservatives wish to impose on others; rather, it is a collection and accumulation of traditions, thoughts, ideals, conventions, and values that are the essence of what makes enjoyable, thriving, and functional communities.

For example, as a principled conservative, I am happy to have laws that protect me from myself. KDW would often use the example of Alan Iverson when he was chatting with Charlie on the Mad Dogs and Englishman podcast (which I miss very much!!).

That is, if I were 18 years of age, and someone gave me $20 million US dollars, I can’t imagine the trouble in which I would find myself.

I don’t gamble. I am frightened that if I were to enter that arena, I would be swept away in absolute degeneracy. I am sure that Kevin wants his lovely young sons educated and protected against vice, sin, and evil. Some of that comes from the parents, but we also used to teach that stuff in school. We used to value the notion of a common good, even if we disagreed on what it was.

I am starting ramble, so I want to pull this out of the rhubarb. Folks often retort, “values? Which values? Your values or someone else’s values?”

Which values? Exactly the Western values that Hamas, and Hezbollah, and the IRA, and the Red Brigade and BLM, and the Chinese Communist Party, and the current rendition of the Republican and Democrat Parties are trying to vitiate, impair, and annihilate.

It is not a call to power; it is an invitation to live like civilized human beings in a safe and inclusive space. It is accepting the responsibility of living in a free & flourishing society.

Great podcast, guys: Two great conservative writers and thinkers on one bill.

Well-done.
