Thank you once more, Jay. President Reagan: the best result of the Carter administration.

Reagan. Nice guy, good president, belongs to history. Everybody who ever saw his name on a ballot is eligible for Social Security.

"Everybody who ever saw his name on a ballot is eligible for Social Security."

Nope. I was a college freshman during the second Reagan election and volunteered with the College Republicans. I'm 59 now.

I met then Vice President George H.W. Bush, who came to our campus. "Oooooh, nice to meet you, Mr. Vice President!" I squealed, because 18-year-old girl.

I share your Reaganite label. It's very frustrating these days to attempt to correct everyone who misuses the term "conservative."

My Jim Wright story isn’t really a story, just a “spotting.” Back when my son was a student at TCU one of the places we’d go out to eat was a barbecue restaurant west of campus. I remember seeing Jim Wright come in to pick up an order. He must’ve had good taste in barbecue.

I realize this isn't particularly profound, but when President Reagan was in office,I felt...comfortable.

I felt that intelligent adults were making decisions with the best possible information available. But what I now think we're missing--and had back then--is a sense of shame. There doesn't seem to be anything that embarrasses anyone anymore. And the current level of intelligence...wow...

Today (and so many days since June 2015), I've remembered the title of Peggy Noonan's book about Reagan: "When Character Was King."

"President Donald Trump lashed out at a reporter from CNN Tuesday over her questions about the Epstein files, telling her he’s never seen her smile ..."

I only smile when my fangs are dripping with the blood of my natural prey.

Refreshing, like cool water in the desert, to see "Reaganite" printed in a sentence with respect and reverence. Bless you, Sir!

Thank you, HW.

I remember watching the '68 World Series with my father. He was a Yankees fan but loved how Lolich battled and could be pretty demonstrative on the mound (usually directing it at himself if he made a bad pitch). Those are fine memories.

If I had the power, there would be no more “Presidents Day”, because no one is that holy, I mean so special, especially politicians, to have a day about them… Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln already have many a cool places named after them…by popular demand, not command. With all due respect to M.L.K., I mean Jesus Birthday is the only one worthy of such a special day on the calendar because…we, the people, did use to be a predominantly Christian nation, where you and I both vividly can remember a majority of U.S. still honored The Sabbath and went to some old Christian church every given Sunday (hat tip, how insightful and brutally funny South Parks take on “power Christian principal” has been lately, parodying The Dons base). Trumpers here and Orbanites/Putinists over there across the pond in Eurasia are what we Reaganite’s are up against…and it is our duty not to lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those that do…unlike the rearing The Dons old man taught him, as the mobster was raised to make like George Castanza amd do the opposite..makes me wish Freds soul is so unwell, rhymes with….What the hell, as I keep saying We the Living in Idiocracy. Here we are now, Trump entertain U.S. God Help U.S.!

All bad things must come to an end, but, as with the Covid lockdown, Lord only knows how much damage to our nations civic fabric The Dons power un Christian principles has done to our nations youth, coming of age with a literal monster, I mean mobster in the Bada Bing, I mean Oval Office…Ashli Babbitt, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti still cannot be reached for comment…they all died for The Dons big fing lies…and the real November Criminals have yet to pay the ultimate punitive the unholy Trump Bible Salesman’s favorite Torahnical verse prescribes. God HELP U.S.!

So, with the spirit of the opposition, I mean 76’ (i cannot wait for the summer of 26’ and the cage fight at Caesars Palace, I mean Trumps White House lawn, and what The Dons ministry of offense to all good things Reagan has in mind for his hordes of wasted dumbarses that think going to the thunder dome is the same as attending church to praise their savior from peoples eating pets…forgive me Jesus, hopefully the psycho killer will be where he belongs by then…but I parenthetically digress)I cannot move on from bashing the President on Substack, for the Don is a clear and existential threat to America, and therefore, especially our base- the children growing up to,see what is going on in Minneapolis is N.I.C.E. Hail, Caesar?, hell no. @#$! Trump, hell yes. No more mister nice guy Jay, it is your duty. God HELP U.S.!!!

If only I could have seen George Brett storm the beaches of, I mean Tim McCelland…two of the best ever going nose to nose, toe to toe (did I get that backwards, or upside down)…because Billy Martin, like The Don, would stoop to know low when it came to winning. Save the children from Heat Miser. Gotta run on. Thanks for taking my rant. For f sakes, this wise guy cannot remain in white power. GOD HELP U.S.!!! Peace through superior mental firepower

Dang. I hadn't heard that Lolich had died. Vivid memories of the '68 Series. Not sure if you've read Bob Gibson's "Pitch by Pitch" book describing game 1, but with lots of info about the players on both teams.

Also, great stuff as always, Jay.
