As Heather Richardson writes, Trump is upending an 80 year world order. Where are Republicans? JD Vance, you are toast!

This Reaganite lifer, who has been mostly writing-in various conservative names since 2016 will now (belatedly?) vote Democrat. Vote for the lunatics. It’s important.

As a patriotic freedom-loving American, I am appalled to be witnessing in realtime one of the most shameful events in American history. Thank you, Jay, for continuing call like you (and I) see it. I really hope our government comes to its senses.

The beauty of the Ukraine situation is that it paints a clear picture of alternatives. Do you support a Trump that abandons Ukraine? If so, then you are advocating for 100,000+ deaths, rape, torture, defacto slavery and a future extension of violence into Eastern Europe. As much as I oppose abortion, porous borders, and much of the woke agenda, this Ukrainian situation is a greater evil and danger.

Thanks for this, Jay. I’ve been in a funk all day about this. You would have no reason to recall this, but we have had a bit of correspondence where I established my affection for you, but not Reagan, nor Buckley (“wish he’d stuck to writing about sailing”) nor Will (“wish he’d stuck to writing about baseball”). But through it all, I’ve never doubted that we are the good guys. By proxy, Trump has established us as part of the bad guys. We must do everything in our legal power to counter this.

I agree with you completely, Jay. I have followed and been involved in politics as a conservative since 1960, but nothing I have seen in those years has sickened me as much as Trump's cosying up to Putin. It is truly shameful -- and to what purpose?

Thank you very much for this piece. A shocking, foul and obscene alliance.

Trump’s two favorite world leaders: Putin and Xi. People that identify as Republicans say and do nothing of consequence.

So it goes.
